This isn't about "reconstructionism" vs "revivalism" or any kind of discussion of what type of heathenry is best or most authentic. I don't care. Everybody is going to do what they want, and then retrofit an explanation for why they're right or justified.

What I'm referring to as "reconstructionism" is something that applies in greater or lesser measure to nearly any modern heathen, whether they consciously identify as a "reconstructionist" or not. I believe this is an impulse we get from the general, modern, secular overculture, which results in a paradox. Resolving the paradox is important for neo-heathen autogenesis.
